R-410A is a near-azeotropic HFC blend of R-125 (50%) and R-32 (50%). Classified A1 — non-toxic and non-flammable — with zero ODP and a GWP of 2088, it is the dominant refrigerant for residential and commercial air conditioning, heat pumps, and VRV/VRF systems across India.
R-410A is used in residential split ACs, commercial air conditioning, domestic and commercial heat pumps, VRV and VRF systems in large buildings, and industrial air conditioning for the processing industry.
No. R-410A operates at 50–70% higher pressures than R-22 and cannot be used as a retrofit gas in equipment designed for R-22. It must only be used in systems specifically designed and rated for R-410A operating pressures.
R-410A is a near-azeotropic blend. To maintain the correct blend composition, it must always be charged as a liquid. Vapour charging can cause fractionation and alter the blend ratio in the cylinder and the system.
R-410A requires Polyolester (POE) lubricant. Ensure all servicing equipment and compressor oil is compatible with R-410A before use.

R-410A exhibits significantly higher pressures than R-22 — typically 50 to 70% higher — which makes it unsuitable as a retrofit gas for older R-22 equipment. It is designed exclusively for new equipment that is rated and built to handle R-410A’s operating pressures. As India’s urban construction and HVAC sector continues to grow, R-410A remains the most widely installed refrigerant in new residential and commercial cooling installations. Responsible Recovery and Disposal of R-410A
R-410A carries a GWP of 2088 and must never be vented to atmosphere. We recommend using certified refrigerant recovery equipment to reclaim R-410A from systems before servicing or decommissioning. Recovered refrigerant should be returned to an authorised reclaimer or collected through our cylinder return programme. As India progresses through its HFC phasedown schedule under the Kigali Amendment, responsible recovery of R-410A from existing systems is both an environmental obligation and an increasingly regulatory one.
